Community spirit thrives as town rebuilds and triumphs over floods

Half an hour's drive north-west of the Gympie CBD lies a town that won't be kept down.

Woolooga, population 250, has endured more than its fair share of hardships and heartbreaks.

Natural disasters have ravaged the region, including floods in 2011, 2013, and two this year.

In 2018, a ferocious fire tore through 12,000 hectares of pasture, destroying thousands of dollars of fencing, sheds and livestock.

In 2019, the area was drought-declared and the town's pub also ran dry.

Todays #Hashtags.
