Justin Langer resigns as Australia cricket coach after CA board meeting

 Justin Langer has ended six months of speculation over his role with the Australian men’s cricket team by resigning as head coach, as former Test captain Ricky Ponting labelled the treatment of his ex-teammate “embarrassing”.

Uncertainty, which has swirled around Langer’s future since last August, remained following a lengthy Cricket Australia board meeting on Friday at which his role was the subject of “significant discussions”. After the seven-hour meeting the CA board failed to reach a resolution .

But on Saturday morning, Langer took the decision out of CA’s hands, with his management issuing a statement on social media to announce their client would be standing down immediately.

Sad Music is Better for you than Happy Music.

Imagine coming home after a long day from school. You’re tired and just want to relax and listen to music. You lay down and put on a playlist, but all you hear is uptempo beats and cheery loud lyrics. Sad music is highly discredited. It’s written off for just being depressing, slow, and dull. quoting Monthly prices but not accepting monthly payments

One of my gripes is when a price is quoted as an amount per month but you have to pay annually regardless of how you get income! I have a client who says what he offers cost $x per week but only offers yearly payments.... also a Free service for 2 days when Free is normally the complete service without the bells and whistles not have just 2 days and "suspend" the service going forward @Mailbird - lift tour game

Now I know why big companies can act like they are evil!

 I have had a custom domain service on Gmail/Google for 15 plus years yet this life time deal ends on June 1st... I suppose lifetime is relative.

Whilst the service had the fancy name of Legacy subscription for the last few years... the rational is that new options have been added to the service - I don't use any of these! - the price goes from $0 per month for a grea service to $300 a month but you can't have the customs domains service [ which I was allowed 200 uses and used 62] would be $5 a month each address but they [Do No Evil Google] have decided to cease the custom domain service totally - the finish date has ceased as others have launched legal action in the US against this change from people who believed that lifetime meant that! not once the share value became a trillion $ and google decided they can do whatever they like.

anyway I have been trying to find alternatives ever since.

As a school age observer, I remember the news that Russia had invaded Czechoslovakia  That ware lasted from 20 August to the 21 August 1968. Czechoslovakia was jointly invaded by four Warsaw Pact countries: the Soviet Union, Poland, Bulgaria and Hungary. About 250,000 Warsaw Pact troops, supported by thousands of tanks and hundreds of aircraft, participated in the overnight operation. The tactics brought Czechoslovakia back into the Communist fold until the Berlin Wall Fell.

The world was different place then... I also remember my mates were conscripted and died in Vietnam to stop the spread of communism. Goff stopped all that [or was it street marches] I don't see that happening today! [ Either conscription or street marches ]

I recommend that you schedule one to two buffer blocks in your calendars each day. Buffer blocks are 30 to 60 minutes in length, and they are used to get the emails, phone messages, and other routine tasks done efficiently. Buffer blocks reduce the time it takes to get all of the incoming and administrative tasks done and they keep those tasks from interrupting the more important things.

If you decide to try buffer blocks, let your contacts know when you have them each day so that they know when they can reach you. You might even change your voice mail to say something like "I am not available right now, but if you leave a message I return calls between 11 to 12 and 4 to 5 each day." Even if just 60% of your callers leave messages, you will be way ahead!

Vitamin c is Not produced by humans!

Humans don't produce Vitamin C

Humans do not produce Vitamin C due to a mutation in the GULO (gluconolamine

oxidase) gene, which results in the inability to synthesize the protein. Normal GULO

is an enzyme that catalyses the reaction of D-glucuronolactone with oxygen to Lxylo-hex-3-gulonolactone. This then spontaneously forms Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C).

However without the GULO enzyme, no vitamin C is produced.

This has not been selected against in natural selection as we are able to consume

more than enough vitamin C from our diet. It is also suggested that organisms

without a functional GULO gene have a method of "recycling" the vitamin C that they

obtain from their diets using red blood cells

I wanted to recommend a service to you [System.io] but when I went to the

webpage all I get is an error. I have been against meetings by Zoom etc because years ago the Austrlain Accountant's governing body tried remote meetings and they didn't work - maybe they were too soon? 

Would it work now? I pioneered Fax Marketing in 1990 when Fax Machines were popular - my thoughts are that it wouldn't work now! For example, the only mail I got to my Post Office Letter Box were the Renewal Notices from Australia Post to renew the PO Box... This reminded me of another way I used to market which was by The Letter Box Drop - Can you predict the success of that now?

If the idea of claiming ownership to a tweet, a GIF, a piece of property in an online game or a virtual cat seems odd, you’re not alone in thinking so. NFTs have been controversial, and it’s just as easy to find support for them online as it is to find people who think they don’t make any sense.

Daniel Van Boom, editor at TechRepublic sister site CNET, said people who don’t understand NFTs are in good company. He wrote: “It’s incomprehensible that clips, memes and gifs are selling for six, seven and even eight figures.”

Even more confusing is what owning an NFT means: If you purchase the NFT of a unique piece of art, you have sole ownership over it and can do with that art what you want, right? Not exactly.

WA Bushfires How soon we forget!

At least four homes have been lost in bushfires that have been bearing down on the towns of Bridgetown and Denmark in Western Australia, with the state’s fire commissioner attributing the intensity of the fires to the changing climate.

The WA emergency services minister, Stephen Dawson, on Sunday confirmed properties and businesses had been affected, but the scale of the damage would not be known until assessors moved through.

He said “significant progress” had been made in containing the fires in the state’s south, but the danger remained.
