Arrival in Brisbane early and the problem of two bags. You can’t go to the Qantas club because they won’t let you back through security with those nasty sharp bits in your luggage.
Coffee would be good BUT they don’t open early enough for visitors from Perth.
I wonder why it takes so long to get your bags... often 20 minutes.
Arriving in Brisbane is always problematic when you fly in on the Red Eye.

Qantas Club Wireless Internet Perth
Wireless connection
The Qantas Club in Perth still have not split the area into plebs and superstars, you know the new Business Qantas Club where you need to fly business or be a Platinum member - I used to be one of those, and those others who respect the valkue of their dollar and take the best airfares availbale.
Do you know the difference between normal RED SPECIAL rate and Business class, Perth to brisbane, is $1,600 yes $1,600 to have a slightly bigger seat and better wine!!
Free internet so I was able to set up and do a couple of updates on Twitter and continue to talk with new friends. Good wireless speed and the new netbook the Lenonovo Ideapad 10 must have better wireless aerial because the connection was easy and the speed was GRTEAT.I used to have problems with my Medion computer with weak signal... maybe I was too quick to blame Qantas.2. Destination: Ipswich Queensland Let's go
Quick visit to do a three hour sessions at Sid's Place new facility in Ipswich Queensland on February 26th, 2009 and I will share the adventure... I think you will find it instructional.
As Ipswich is a $100 taxi fare away from airport I decide to hire a car.
My preference has been Avis Car Rental. I decided to hire a car this trip with taxi fares likely to run to more than $100 each way. So, being a special Avis client - Wizard Card - after getting through Qantas check in - very pleasant lady looked after me, I checked on the one day hire rate for a car at the Perth counter.
Small manual unlimited kilometres was $56 for day with a $2,650 EXCESS. I am surrounded with less companies saying $26 a day and decided that they really didn't want my money tonight and left it... "What would it cost to remove the excess??" "$35 plus GST"

Love Is a Patch Work Quilt
Erica, our beautiful daughter, went to London for 6 weeks about 6 years ago, and lost her heart to LONDON.So, Joanne, as all good mothers do, shares her love by sending recipes, Tim Tams and craft work she makes.
This weekend, I have been the tailors assistance making a quilt - "knee rug" I think is the correct term.
Here is the "nearly" finished work of love which will to go with Joanne and my sister Lurline to London in May..." a mothers heart is always with her children."

Doing It Tough
Sunday Lunch at home... fresh fruit in season including red grapes, white grapes, rock melon, figs from next door, and ice crisp water melon. And just to complete the feast, chilled Lilac Hill White Zinfandell 2005 with pieces of grape, water melon and fig to taste.MMMM is tough but some one has to do it... and you can see from the pictures taken on my iPhone,
I have been twittering away to try and get my follower count to 9,000 and then slip passed Kevin Rudd Australia's Prime Minister, into number 3 spot in Australia's 100 Most influential Twitterers.

Horses Caught in Bushfires
Rural properties with paddocks and paddock fencing have been razed to the ground and it's reported that there are literally HUNDREDS of horses roaming around the outskirts of the devastated areas-and they're the lucky ones. Horses are stressed & dehydrated, some carry injuries ranging from minor scrapes and burns, through to those requiring surgery as a result of their injuries.Many horses just can't even be caught so that they can be helped for lack of the right gear!

Pinelli Frontignac and Peaches
The Swan Valley just near my home in Perth has nearly 100 wineries all which have their own style of wine.
Pinelli's on Benara Road sell"bulk" table wine and mt favourite is a sweet white - Frontignac. I know it's not what the wine snobs would do but Joanne and I buy it in the 2litre bottles, chill it, and add fresh peaches... aahhh it is amazing!
So tonight we had a 9 egg omelet and a couple of glasses of Pinelli's Frontignac - like the tears of angels on your tongue!!
