"From what I understand, two guys were out fishing on Friday night," reported Massillon (Ohio) Police Sgt. J.J. DiLoreto.But instead of catching a fish, they caught a snapping turtle. "I think they were planning to eat it," he said, so the fishermen decided to shoot the turtle.
But "his foot got in the way," DiLoreto said. "He shot himself in the foot" with a 9mm pistol. The unnamed victim may face a misdemeanor charge of illegal firearms discharge. And in all the resulting confusion, "I think the turtle got away." ...The "big one" always does.
